AUBURN – The Auburn Baha’i Community held its semi-annual Lake Auburn cleaning on Route 4 on Sept. 6.

The service project was done by ages 8 to a 90-year-old senior citizen. All lent hands and collected several bags of trash on the lake front. The trash mainly consisted of cigarette butts, Styrofoam cups and broken bottles.

Participants noted improvement in comparison to previous years, which indicates community awareness of the danger of introducing toxic materials to the source of city drinking water.

The Baha’i Community regards work performed in the spirit of service ranked as equal to worship.
