LEWISTON – Tyler Dewdney curled a direct kick around the Plymouth State wall and into the lower right corner of the net to lift Bates to a 2-1 victory.

Dewdney lined up the free kick from just outside the penalty area in the game’s 80th minute.

The teams were knotted at 1-1 for 40 minutes after trading goals in the first half. Panthers senior Pat Connolly scored in the 25th minute on a rocket from just inside the Bates penalty area. The Bobcats (2-2) answered when Tim Molnar one-timed a loose ball from 15 yards away.

FARMINGTON – Emma Deans notched a hat trick Wednesday as the University of Maine at Farmington rolled to a 8-0 rout over Thomas.

Elyse Cole and Ashley Wentworth each netted a pair of goals for the Beavers (3-3), while Alyssa St. Pierre also tallied. Sarah Brown and Kaeliegh Barker split time in net for UMF, with Brown making two saves.
