POLAND – MacKenzie Cook netted a pair of goals as Poland recorded its second victory in five years with a 3-0 triumph against Wells in boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Joe Murphy also tallied for the Knights (1-6). Mike Littlefield needed only two saves to preserve the shutout.

Poland outshot Wells, 43-2, for its most aggressive offensive attack this season. Alex Furness turned aside 19 shots between the posts for Wells (1-6). Mike Goss, Dustin Dionne and Sam Larrivee played a strong game defensively for Poland, keeping Wells in check throughout the contest.

Fryeburg 2, Gray-NG 1, 2 OT

GRAY – Juan Kim picked up a pass from Sun Woo Kim and, with 2:40 left in double overtime, found the back of the net to give Fryeburg the 2-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ soccer.

Gray’s (2-4) Kolby Arnold scored the first goal, tapping in the ball off a feed from Eric Schrader. Fryeburg answered back in the second half with an unassisted goal by Alex Ciegelski before the contest was finished by Juan Kim in the overtime period.

Goalie Chad Lowe made seven saves to earn the win for Fryeburg (4-2-1), while Evan Kenney turned in a solid performance, making five saves in the losing effort.

Hebron 2, Hyde 0

BATH – Mike Skelton and Trevor White each found the back of the net as Hebron beat Hyde 2-0 in prep school boys’ soccer action.

Skelton converted a pass from Eric Rodriguez in the first half, while White tipped in a ball passed from Vlad Gavrik to provide some added insurance.

Keeper Corey Lescault recorded five saves for Hebron.
