Again this year, Maine’s credit unions will celebrate the holiday season by offering a unique CD for a very special cause. The Christmas in Maine 20th Anniversary CD will again be on sale at credit unions throughout the state, and online at www.mainecul.org. This CD, which includes two Grammy Award winners, features all Maine artists, such as Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary, Schooner Fare, Dave Mallett, Windham Chamber Singers, Joan Kennedy and more.

Con Fullam, producer of the CD and the writer of several of its songs, including The Maine Christmas Song, said that Maine’s credit unions’ strong commitment to their communities made them the obvious partner for this project. “Maine credit unions capture the true spirit of this time of year with the many ways they care for their members each day, both financially and socially,” he said.

John Murphy, president of the Maine Credit Union League, said that this partnership is a true reflection of the credit union movement. “This is a wonderful opportunity to share the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’ both by spreading the spirit of the holiday season in Maine, and raising funds to end hunger in our state.”

The CD features the original version of The Maine Christmas Song, sung by Melinda Liberty, and includes a rendition by Windham Chamber Singers, a special original version of the song, and a French version performed by Melanie Dorice Saucier of Fort Kent. It is also filled with traditional Christmas songs, as well as new songs soon to become favorites.

Available primarily at Maine credit unions, the CDs will be on sale through December 25. The CDs are priced at only $15 each with $4 from each CD going to the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. For more information on where and how to purchase this CD, visit the Community Involvement section on www.mainecul.org.
