GREENWOOD – With the Nov. 4 election less than three weeks away, the Oxford County Democrats have many activities and events planned. Three suppers are planned in Locke Mills, Norway and Rumford, plus an open house in Fryeburg.

Donkey Tuesday, a lasagna supper planned for the Locke Mills Legion on Tuesday, Oct. 21, will take a different twist. Instead of a ticket price for the supper, donations for the local food pantry or for Keep Oxford Warm are requested. The hall will open at 5 p.m. and the meal will be served at 5:30.

The speaker will be Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, on Maine’s elections and on the outlook for the current election. Local candidates will be present. A silent auction will be held, and donations for the auction will be accepted prior to the supper.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, there will be a spaghetti supper at the Norway Universalist Church at 5:30 p.m. Details will be released later for that event, for an open house at the Fryeburg Democratic Office, also on Oct. 25, and for the Final Push Supper to be held at the Eagles Hall in Rumford, with Congressman Michael Michaud as special guest and a menu of beef stew and homemade biscuits.

The county Democrats were represented at the Rumford Oktoberfest on Oct. 11, with a booth doing business in volunteer sign-ups and candidate information.

The field offices in Fryeburg, Rumford, Norway and Bethel welcome volunteers from now through Nov. 4. To sign up, contact the Rumford office, 364-7289.
