LIVERMORE – The Board of Selectmen approved $21,100 in road and culvert work on two roads Monday night, the board’s administrative assistant, Kurt Schaub, said Tuesday.

Israelson Road will be graded and have some reclaimed asphalt put on it to fix the crown and make it more maintainable, Schaub said.

The cost is $13,000 and will be funded by the capital road account.

Contractor C.H. Stevenson will do that work as well as replace two culverts on River Road, near the Cook farm on the northern end of the road but south of Schoolhouse Road, Schaub said.

The cost of that project is $8,100, and it will also come out of the road account.

In other business, select persons accepted the quote of $5.75 per yard of sand from R.S. Pidacks of Livermore, Schaub said. That price covers delivery, mixing and piling.

The town plans to put up 3,500 yards of sand, he said.

There were two quotes received, he said, and Pidacks was the lowest.

Town Clerk Renda Libby also announced that the town is selling cemetery lots on the new side of the Lakeside Cemetery on Route 4, near Brettuns Pond, Schaub said.

The cost is $200 for the first lot and $100 for each additional lot, he said.

Spruce Mountain Ski Club representative Judy Diaz requested the board consider a $2,000 donation to help build a heating reserve fund for the ski area owned by Livermore, Livermore Falls and Jay.

The board voted to put that request through the budgetary process for next year, Schaub said.
