Auction, supper

RUMFORD – The Oxford County Democrats virtual online auction will run through Thursday, Oct. 30. It is a major fundraiser. Auction items are listed on the Web site, www.oxforddems.org and through the electronic newsletter. Bids can be placed by e-mail.

The auction will conclude at the 5:30 p.m. Thursday Final Push Supper at the Rumford Eagles Hall. The supper will feature beef stew and biscuits. Congressman Mike Michaud will be the guest of honor. Tickets at the door will be $4.

Hunter’s breakfast

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will hold a hunter’s and family breakfast from 5:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. A muzzleloader gun raffle winner will be drawn at 8 a.m. Breakfast will include bacon, eggs, toast, potatoes, pancakes, baked beans, omelets, coffee and juice. Sunday speaker

PARIS – The Rev. Don Mayberry’s sermon will focus on the role of empathy in the spiritual life on Sunday, Nov. 2, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., Paris.

In addition to Sunday worship and Sunday school, both meeting at 10 a.m., First Congregational also offers Bible study at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays and a healing prayer support group meeting at 3 p.m. Thursdays. Knitters to meet

PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., Paris. Guests will be Doreen Simmons and her mother, who are bringing pillows to work on.

Women to meet

WATERFORD – The Christian Women United will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the North Waterford Church. It is World Community Day and there will be a speaker. For more information, call Gloria Sawyer at 743-7677.

Time change

WATERFORD – Worship services at Waterford Congregational Church in Waterford Village will be at 10 a.m. instead of 9:30 from Sunday, Nov. 2, until the spring return to daylight savings time.

Sunday school will also be held at 10 a.m. Nursery care will be offered.
