Portland bands Dead End Armory, top, and An Evening With will perform Saturday, Nov. 1, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Jeremy Alexander, the singer-songwriter behind An Evening With, enlisted local musicians to back him on “Lovers & Losers,” the band’s debut album for which Alexander penned 11 songs about loneliness and longing. Other core members of that band are Aaron Hautala, Peet Chamberlain and Jason Ingalls. Their music is rooted in country and honky-tonk (brushed drums, strummed acoustic guitar, barroom piano, harmonica), but is frequently embellished with elements of rock and pop. Dead End Armory blends country with alt-rock. The show begins at 9 p.m. There is no cover. Guthries is on Middle Street. For more information, call 376-3344 or visit myspace.com/guthriesplace.
