FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter, MGS, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Farmington Public Library. Nancy Lecompte, director of Ne-Do-Ba, will present a program on “Researching Native American Ancestry in the Northeast.” Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.

Holiday fair

CHESTERVILLE – A holiday craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Chesterville Town Hall. There will be a light luncheon, coffee and doughnuts, knit items, jewelry, toys and stocking stuffers. For more information, call 778-6978.

Community lunch

FARMINGTON – Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. Delivery service will be available in the Farmington area. Call the church office at 778-0424 during the week or the church kitchen at 778-4438 on the morning of the luncheon for meal delivery.

Musical program

WILTON – A musical program will be presented at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Wilton Methodist Church to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry.

Appearing will be Blue Mt. Country, Bing and Nancy Crosby, Jim G and Silv’ry Seasons. The program will include country, bluegrass, gospels and fiddle tunes. Monetary donations will be accepted.

Veteran’s program

WILTON – A Veteran’s Day observance will be held at noon Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the downtown monument. Local clergy, representatives of the American Legion Post 117, and veterans from the Wilton area will be present. The observance will include remarks on the history of Veteran’s Day, remembrances, prayers and the singing of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.”

The event is being sponsored by the churches of the Wilton Ecumenical Community Outreach. The public is welcome. Those who do attend are invited to bring flowers or a plant, which will be delivered later in the day to veterans in the community.

Extension talk

INDUSTRY – Clearwater Extension Homemakers will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Shorey Chapel. Donna Bucker will present a program on “Whole Grains.” “Placemats and Potholders” will be led by Shirley Titcomb and Barbara Hutchinson. Everyone is welcome.

RANGELEY – The annual Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Dinner will be served at noon Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 2614 Main St.
