LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter announces the November workshop schedule and the speakers for the Unemployed Professionals Group. The group meets every Monday from 1-4 p.m. and provides support, resources, and networking opportunities for unemployed and underemployed professionals, while providing employers with a valuable talent pool from which to recruit and hire.

Speakers for November and their topics:

“Past, Present and Future” will be presented Nov. 10 by Salvatore Bonetti, a certified financial planner from Portland.

“The art of persuasion” will be offered Nov. 17 with Robert LaBrie of Maximum Potential in Gorham.

“Building On Your Strengths” will be offered Nov. 24 with Michael Davis of Pathfinder, Harpswell.

Registration is not required for the Unemployed Professionals Group.

An adult education representative is available every Wednesday from 10-10:30 a.m. to talk to individuals about options to improve job skills and which adult education programs or classes would best meet needs based on interests and career goals. Registration is not required, but call 753-9005 to verify the adviser is in.

A higher education adviser will be available Nov. 17 from 1:30-3 p.m. to talk about options for attending college. She will help explore college choices based on interests and career goals; she will also talk about financial aid to make college a reality. Registration not required, but call 753-9005 to verify she is in.

“CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation,” orientation to the CareerCenter is offered every Wednesday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

“CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation,” offered weekly.

“Résumé Basics,” will be offered Nov. 6 and again on Nov. 20, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

“Interview Skills,” will also be offered Nov. 6 and again on Nov. 20, from 12:30-3 p.m.

“Job Search,” will be offered Nov. 14 or Nov. 25 from 10 a.m.-noon.

“Career Decision Making” will be offered Nov. 17, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with follow up on Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-noon.

All events are free of charge and are held at the CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.
