FARMINGTON – Summer arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter with a sign on her cage saying that she had been caught in a trap and to use caution.

The cat shelter staff met that morning was shy and intimidated but not wild. With time, Summer has learned to accept the staff and visitors with a watchful eye and a nod of approval. Every day she explores further from her basket.

Summer would like to nestle into her basket in a quiet home. For more information on her and the other animals at the shelter, call 778-2638.

New dogs include boxer mix male from Farmington and a yellow Lab mix male from Jay, who is blind.

The shelter has a new Web site, www.fcas-me.org, It is in the growing phase but contains information about the shelter and some of the animals.
