WESTBROOK – Maine credit unions are selling the “Christmas in Maine 20th Anniversary” compact disc for $15, with $5 from each CD going to the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. It will be on sale through Dec. 25 at more than 150 credit union locations in Maine, Bull Moose Music stores, Reny’s, Mr. Paperback, selected Hallmark stores and other locations.
The CD features all Maine artists, such as Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary, Schooner Fare, Dave Mallett, Windham Chamber Singers and Joan Kennedy.
The CD celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Christmas classic, “The Maine Christmas Song,” and features a rendition by Windham Chamber Singers, a special original version of the song and a French version performed by Melanie Dorice Saucier of Fort Kent.
Since 1990, the campaign has raised more than $2.7 million to help end hunger in Maine. One hundred percent of all funds raised goes to the cause of ending hunger and stays in Maine. For more information visit www.mainecul.org.
