LEWISTON – Nate Damm hit five three-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points, leading four players to score in double figures for Central Maine Community College as the Mustangs picked up their third straight Yankee Conference win with a 72-64 victory over the University of Maine-Augusta on Wednesday.

The Mustangs (6-3) trailed by three at the break, but opened the second half with a 14-0 run and controlled the tempo for the balance of the game.

Cam Angell scored 16 points, including a pair of three-pointers, Matt Sceviour hit for 15 and Tyler Smithgall added 12. Moses Braithwaite and Deon Cheers led the Moose (2-5) with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

Women roll

LEWISTON – Michelle Holmquist drained a team-high 24 points to lead Central Maine Community College in a 70-53 thumping of the University of Maine-Augusta on Wednesday.

Kate Dargie added nine points in the win while Danielle Hebert and Katie Martin combined for 15. Kayla Ellis paced a relentless defensive attack to compliment her six points.

Danielle White led the Moose with 28 points and Marci Moors added 12.

The Mustangs remain perfect on the season through six games and are 3-0 in Yankee Conference play.
