PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire state police say a Maine mother of a 1-year-old girl served as a drug mule for a pair of drug traffickers.

Twenty-year-old Alicia Kelley of Westbrook appeared Wednesday in Portsmouth District Court on a felony count of drug possession.

Police say Kelley, the driver and another passenger traveled to Massachusetts to buy the cocaine, and Kelley hid it in a body cavity to avoid arrest when the car was stopped on I-95 for speeding.

Also charged were Kelley’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Bryant Hogan of Portland, who was out on bail at the time of his arrest. The driver, 26-year-old Paul Sans of Scarborough, faces a charge of being a fugitive from justice in addition to drug charges.
