ELLSWORTH – Applications are being accepted for the Hugh and Elizabeth Montgomery Scholarship at the Maine Community Foundation.

The renewable scholarship supports residents of Franklin County who are non-traditional students (beyond high school age) returning to school to continue their education at college or technical school. The foundation partners with 2008 Noyce Award for Nonprofit Excellence winner Franklin County Community College Network to make the scholarship available to eligible students.

Preference will be given to students for whom a scholarship would make a significant difference in their ability to attend school.

The deadline for applications is Jan. 2.
