BANGOR (AP) – Two Maine men will each spend more than a decade behind bars after being sentenced for attacking a Bangor hotel guest with a bat and a hammer in a case of mistaken identity.
On Thursday, a judge in Penobscot County Superior Court ordered 32-year-old Christopher Brown of Brewer to serve 13 years in prison and 31-year-old Edward Record of Bucksport to serve 12 years. Both were convicted of robbery, aggravated assault and burglary.
In April, the men allegedly were looking for drugs when they put on ski masks, forced their way into a room at the Riverview Motel and attacked 37-year-old Will Chan of Virginia Beach, Va.
The attack was intended to be a drug rip-off, but the men got the wrong room.
