Looking around at local and non-local gas stations, I have noticed a decrease in gas prices. Before, the catchy slogan had been ‘Pain at the Pump,’ but I think things have changed.

Although the prices are not as low as they have been in previous years, they are still continuing to drop and I think and hope prices will continue to drop. I think that gas stations have finally realized that the economy is bad and needs to survive somehow. If people can’t even afford their medications and food, how can they start worrying about the gas prices? For the period of time when gas was rising into record highs, I did notice people started to turn around their normal schedules. They would help others, carpool, or not even drive at all. Some people invested in newer vehicles that were more efficient. I am pleased to see the change in gas prices, but also the change in people. I thought it brought out the best thinking in others and just because gas has now dropped, I don’t believe things should change. If people are going to be traveling distances and meeting up with people, they should still carpool. Making simple decisions can help save our economy. I know that I’ve seen change and I liked it. I hope that change continues!
