BRUNSWICK – Castlebay will present songs and music to celebrate winter and welcome the new year, drawing from both ancient and contemporary traditions, Friday, Dec. 26, at the Unitarian Universalist Church.

The magic and madness of midwinter, the dark and the light, will be musically rendered by Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee who have explored the roots and branches of Maine’s Celtic tradition for more than 20 years. They have performed internationally and have released more than 20 recordings.

The two will combine story and song in their personable performance style. Celtic harp, fiddle, woodwinds and guitar support moving vocals and provide a vehicle for joyous dance tunes and haunting aires.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert are $10 and will be available at the door. The church is at 15 Pleasant St. For reservations or more information, call 529-5438, e-mail castlebay@castlebay.net or log on to www.castlebay.net.
