WILTON – Safe Sitter classes for girls and boys ages 11 to 13 will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at Academy Hill School. Registration for the one-day program, sponsored by the Wilton Early Childhood Center, is open until Wednesday, Jan. 7.

The Safe Sitter program is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. The cost is $50. To register a son or daughter or a child’s babysitter, call 645-5081.

All information is taught by trained Safe Sitter instructors.

Safe Sitter participants also receive tips to make them more confident caregivers.

To successfully complete the Safe Sitter program, the students have to pass a practical and written test to show that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle an emergency.
