LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Rudy and Ann Dumais of Lewiston on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

A stretch limousine picked up the couple at their home, with their four children, a special niece, and their spouses. They went to Marco’s Restaurant, where grandchildren and other family members waited for them. Toastmaster was David Dumais.

The couple was married Nov. 8, 1958, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Their children are David Dumais, Mike Dumais and wife, Lucy, Lisa Bernier and husband, Brian, and Carol Griffin and husband, Edward. They have 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Dumais was employed at Knapp Shoe for 42 years. He later worked for Bedard’s Pharmacy, until he retired in 1989. He is a member of American Legion Post 135 in Sabattus.

Mrs. Dumais was employed at Arrow Hart for many years, and then worked for Fancy Stitching until she retired in 1998.
