Accidents

Dec. 23, 3:20 p.m. – A 2003 Chevy sport-utility vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 damage when driver Candy L. White, 35, of Carthage lost control while driving on Wyman Hill Road. The SUV skidded off the road, struck a tree and spun 180 degrees before coming to rest in a ditch. White was not injured.

Dec. 13, 9:30 p.m. – A 2006 Lincoln driven south on Congress Street by Joanne F. Witas, 67, of Mexico, struck a legally parked 2001 GMC pickup truck and pushed it into a second parked vehicle, damaging a 2000 Pontiac. Witas, who left the scene and returned 45 minutes later, was uninjured. Damage to the Lincoln was estimated at $4,500, and $3,000 each to the pickup, parked by Bruce L. Weld of Dixfield, and the Pontiac, parked by Wendall R. Farnum, 60, of Rumford.
