Between midnight Dec. 22 and midnight Dec. 29, patrol officers responded to 77 complaints.

Arrests

On Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m., Joel Peaslee, 31, of Mexico was arrested by Patrolman Belanger and charged with theft of services after refusing to pay his cab fare. Peaslee was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 26 at 7:16 p.m., Joel Peaslee, 31, of Mexico was arrested by Cpl. Noyes and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Peaslee, who went to court on the same day for the earlier arrest, was unable to post $600 cash bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 26 at 9:16 p.m., Edward Deroche, 54, of Andover was arrested by Patrolman Miller and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Deroche was able to post $600 unsecured bail and released

On Dec. 26 at 9:34 p.m., Jon Thurston, 35, of Andover was arrested by Patrolman Belanger and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Thurston was able to post $600 unsecured bail and released

On Dec. 27 at 12:30 a.m., Troy Blanchard, 19, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Mills on an outstanding warrant charging failure to appear for assault. Blanchard was unable to post $350 cash bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 27 at 4:30 p.m., Erick Jones, 24, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Winson for and charged with operating a motor vehicle after suspension. Thurston was able to post $600 unsecured bail and released

On Dec. 27 at 12:30 a.m., Richard Stickney III, 26, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Belanger and charged with violating bail conditions. Stickney was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 28 at 1:25 a.m., Michael Thurston, 21, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Belanger and charged with disorderly conduct. Thurston was unable to post $200 cash bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 28 at 8:55 p.m., Kenneth Boyle, 43, of Mexico was arrested by Patrolman Mills on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a charge of operating after suspension. Boyle was able to post $250 cash and released.

On Dec. 28 at 9:07 p.m., Deborah Gates, 52, of Rumford was arrested by Cpl. Noyes and charged with domestic violence assault. Gates was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

Assault

On Dec. 26 at 12:56 a.m., an Essex Avenue resident reported being assaulted by his nephew. Victim was requested to fill out a statement and never did.

Criminal mischief

On Dec. 22 at 1:25 p.m., a Prospect Avenue business reported damage done to a door. No dollar amount listed.

On Dec. 27 at 6:07 a.m., a Mexico resident reported someone slashed two tires on his vehicle while he was at work in the mill. Estimated $200 damage.

On Dec. 27 at 7 a.m., Sgt. Bean discovered damage to Rumford and Andover residents’ vehicles while off on another criminal mischief complaint for the same. Someone slashed two tires on each vehicle while the owners were at work in a mill. Estimated $200 in damage.

Criminal trespass

On Dec. 24 at 5:12 p.m., a Waldo Street resident reported possible entry into her residence. No forced entry and nothing taken. Suspect issued trespass warning.

Theft

On Dec. 26 at 4 p.m., a Spruce Street resident reported a $100 modem from Verizon and delivered by UPS was stolen from her porch.

On Dec. 27 at 9:45 p.m., a Cumberland Street resident reported a $398 laptop stolen from her residence. Incident under investigation.

Warrant

Shelley R. Elliot, 29, of Rumford/Bethel is wanted on a warrant for failure to pay fines for failure to disperse.
