Rumford public works employee Jim Viger dumps a load of snow taken from Strathglass Park on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for Wednesday’s storm. Forecasts estimate at least six inches of snow, along with the possibility of mixed sleet and rain are headed for Maine. The public works department dumps much of the snow this year at this new location behind the town garage. Some is still dumped at the former snow dump near the Androscoggin River off Prospect Avenue, but farther away from the river than it had once been.
