POLAND – Batons will be spinning at Poland Community School on Saturday, Jan. 17, as baton teams gather for Team Rally 2009.
An annual event, the rally provides an opportunity for groups to debut new routines as they launch the competition season.
The day will begin with team performances, followed by individual events and clinic sessions. Judges from the United States Twirling Association will be on hand to provide feedback and teach instructional sessions.
This year’s rally will be the biggest yet, with 80 individual twirlers already registered to perform. Teams featured will be Twirl Girls from Poland Recreation, Panther Pride Twirlers from Poland Community School, Paris Twirlers, West Paris Bobcats, Waterford Twinkle Twirlers, Biddeford Seacoast Cadets, Belfast Starlite Twirlers and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School’s Viking Majorettes.
The public is invited. For more information, e-mail rally director MaryEllen Baizley at [email protected] or visit the Paris Twirlers Web site at http://paristwirlers.vpweb.com.
