For many years, the Lisbon High School Boosters Club sponsored a Craft Fair attracting people from all over the state. The Boosters’ fundraising assists the Lisbon High School athletes when they need new uniforms, practice jerseys, teams’ championship rings and assistance with other needs for the teams throughout the school year.

The Boosters held the annual Craft Fair on Saturday, December 6 in the cafeteria at the high school. According to Kathi Yergin, chairperson of the event for the last two years, 31 crafters participated this year. There were many different items being sold during the Fair. The Class of 2011 held a raffle on a variety of baskets donated by students of the class. Lisbon Cheerleaders sold baked goods to raise money for their upcoming competitions, and the members of the Boosters sold Christmas trees, wreaths, and food. Other crafters sold blankets, jewelry, ornaments, candles, and much more.

This Advocate reporter asked Kathi Yergin if she felt the economy had any effect on the fundraiser? “The economy seems to have effected our event. Last year we had 48 crafters to only 31 this year. And, not as many people attended the Fair. A number of our crafters have already requested that the Boosters Club lower the table prices for next year’s fair,” shared Mrs. Yergin.
