MEXICO – A Mexico Police Department cruiser will be out of service for the next couple of weeks after a crash in the Meroby Elementary School parking lot Jan. 13.

Police Chief Jim Theriault said reserve officer Keith Tilsley, 42, Mexico, was conducting a security check at the school at 8:15 p.m. when the 2008 Ford cruiser hit a solid barrier divide, causing about $1,800 damage to the vehicle. The police report said Tilsley was observing tracks in the driveway when he hit the unpainted and snow-covered barrier.

• A 17-year-old Rumford boy was arrested after the Dec. 22 report of theft of about $400 with a debit card issued by the Oxford Federal Credit Union. Theriault said the owner was in the military when the card was used. The teen was turned over to a juvenile intake worker and is scheduled to appear in court March 5.
