PORTLAND (AP) – The high-speed ferry known as The Cat will begin its 2009 season between Nova Scotia and two Maine ports on May 31.

Bay Ferries, which owns the 320-foot catamaran, says The Cat will run twice a week from Portland to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and three times a week from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth in the spring and fall.

The summer schedule, from July 4 to Sept. 7, calls for four trips a week from Portland and three trips a week from Bar harbor.

Bay Ferries says fares will remain the same as last year.
