LEWISTON – Cecile P. Gagnon, 91, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died late Monday, Jan. 26, at d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

She was born in Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada, on May 4, 1917, the daughter of Aime and Amanda (Labonte) Perron and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.

She was employed in the local textile industry for many years until her retirement in 1951.

She was married to Oram Gagnon in October 1947. He died on April 21, 1986.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and loved her cats.

She was a member of the Golden Age Club of Sacred Heart Parish, Horizon 55, Covenant 50 and Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by one son, James Gagnon and his wife, Diana, of Lewiston; two sisters, Dorothy Perron of Lewiston and Jeannine Guay of Washington state; two grandchildren, Laura Gagnon of Lewiston and Joshua Gagnon of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Gilberte Perron and Madeleine Hebert; and two brothers, Roland and Alcide Perron.
