BATH – Pine Tree Camp, a summer camp for children and adults with disabilities, is accepting applications for the 2009 summer season.
Since 1945, the camp has been providing a traditional summer camp experience to Maine people with disabilities. The 280-acre facility is adapted to meet the special needs of campers who have a wide range of physical or developmental disabilities.
It provides the children opportunities to participate in a variety of traditional summer camp activities, including adaptive kayaking, outdoor games, hiking on accessible nature trails, swimming, boating and fishing. During their stay, campers experience new activities and increase their sense of success in a safe, barrier-free environment.
Campers are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for residential and day camp opportunities are available at www.pinetreesociety.org or by calling 443-3341.
