AUBURN – Wanda A. Martinkus, 94, of Meadowview Apartments, Lewiston, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston, on Nov. 17, 1914, the daughter of Stanley and Barbara Shimonaitis Martinkus. Educated locally, she worked as a registered nurse in several hospitals in the New York City area, and then as a nurse and medical secretary in Maine, retiring in 1976 as a private duty nurse.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Martinkus, March 2007.
Wanda’s many friends and neighbors at Meadowview Apartments would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary’s Emergency Room, Clover Manor, and the Hospice House for all the loving care and attention they gave Wanda during her final illness.
