AUBURN – Barbara Ann Poirier, 57, of Heritage Apartments, Auburn, died peacefully in her sleep Jan. 30, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 9, 1951, the daughter of Norman Poirier and Mary (Chateauvert) Casper. She attended local schools, graduating from Monmouth Academy and later attended UNH, where she earned a degree as a paralegal.

She lived in Lisbon for many years and worked in local businesses, including Bates College and the Forestry Service in Augusta. She later moved to Hampton, N.H., where she worked for the Timberland Co. for many years, prior to her illness.

She enjoyed painting and crafting and often made special items for family members. She loved all animals and will be sadly missed by her beloved cat, Frankie.

She is survived by her daughters, Tifani Grusky and husband, Michael, of McLeansville, N.C., and Misty Fernald of Kittery; her mother, Mary Casper and husband, Richard, of Lewiston; three grandsons, Andrew, Brennan and Alex; one sister, Patsy Laliberte and husband, Joseph, of Lewiston; two nephews, Chad Laliberte of Clinton, N.Y., and Chris Laliberte of Lewiston; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including one special aunt, Glenice Bubier of Greene, who always included her for holidays and family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her father, Norman.
