DOVER, N.H. (AP) – A former Portsmouth, N.H., police captain has been found guilty of assaulting a local crime reporter.
Forty-seven-year-old Fred Hoysradt had been charged with misdemeanor simple assault for grabbing the arm of Portsmouth Herald reporter Beth Dinan while the two were at her home on July 14, 2008. Hoysradt, who had served on the police force for 15 years, resigned shortly after the incident.
Hoysradt was fined $1,200 with $200 suspended pending one year good behavior. He was ordered to have no contact with Dinan.
