LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Seek Elderly Alone, Renew Courage and Hope (SEARCH) program of Catholic Charities Maine is looking for people to volunteer with seniors who may live alone or need a helping hand.

The program is seeking volunteers to help provide the free services, such as companionship, help with errands, telephone reassurance and transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping for elderly and disabled people, to help them remain independent in their homes.

The agency needs volunteers who may have a couple of free hours about once a week to help an elderly person who lives in Lewiston, Auburn or the surrounding communities.
