FARMINGTON – On the “Lavern and Shirley” TV show, Penny Marshall, as Lavern, wore a big L, drank milk and Pepsi and was not always the “nice one.”

Well, staff said, Lavern lives at the Franklin County Animal Shelter and if they look hard they could probably find Shirley, Lenny and Squiggy.

They said anyone who has a home open to one cat full of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, they should meet Lavern and her cats of characters at the shelter.

New dogs include an altered male brindle plott mix from Farmington and a male black lab mix from New Sharon.
