A largely attended temperance meeting was held in Clan Campbell hall Sunday afternoon. Mr. Ames of Bates College was the first speaker and then a general testimony meeting was held. There was also an excellent meeting held in the evening at which remarks were made by President C. B. Ryerson and others. Regular meetings have been arranged for Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m. Already 20 men, nearly all young men, have signed the pledge as the result of the two Sunday meetings.

The outdoor artificial ice rink behind Hasty Memorial Armory in Auburn has been shut down due to leaking problems.
Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Norris Ingersoll said earlier this week that the rink was closed in mid-February because of a leak in the tubing under the ice. To this date, Ingersoll said, officials have been unable to locate the leak.
“We thought the best thing was to close it down and wait until spring,” he said.
Original plans called for the rink to be open from Thanksgiving to late winter.
