AUBURN – Lorraine Sally Smith, 77, succumbed to her illness Friday, March 13, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice surrounded by her loving daughters, Deborah and Sally.

She was a longtime resident of Lewiston, where she was born a daughter of Rene and Elodie (Marquis) Larrivee on Aug. 17, 1931, in Lewiston. She was a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for 27 years. She worked in the maternity ward, and was instrumental in bringing so many lives into this world.

She was an avid reader, loved current events, sports, knitting, but most of all her girls. She embarks on the journey for peace and free of pain, to join her loving husband Leonard, and beautiful daughter, Jessica.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Deborah Bedard and spouse, Robert, of Oxford and Sally Smith and dear friend, Danielle Ramirez, of Greene, whom Lorraine considered as a daughter of her own; her only surviving sister, Dolores Turcotte of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of more than 35 years, Leonard Smith in 1980; and daughter, Jessica Norwood in 1995.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Dr. Betty Kennedy and Dr. Roger Austin. Lorraine, we are grateful for your strength, kindness, and courage. We will miss you dearly Mom, Love you Deborah and Sally……
