RUMFORD – Marion A. Houde, 99, formerly of Franklin St., died Sunday, March 15, at Rumford Community Home with her loving nieces at her side.
She was born in Rumford on March 2, 1910, a daughter of Jacque and Anna (Thibodeau) Surette.
Marion was educated in Rumford schools. She was married to O’Neil A. Houde, who predeceased her on Oct. 26, 1982.
She was employed for 30 years as a fashion consultant with James W. Hill Co. in Manchester, N.H.
Marion was a communicant at the Parish of the Holy Savior. She loved doing flower arranging and was a member of the Manchester and Rumford garden clubs.
Marion was an avid bridge player and was a member of the local bridge club.
Surviving are a brother, Raymond Surette of Oquossoc; three grandchildren, Belinda, Joseph and Tiffany; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, O’Neil Houde; her son, James M. Houde; a grandson, Jim Houde; two sisters, Rita and Osalie; four brothers, Ernest, Leander, Reginald and Lionel; and a daughter-in-law, Connie.
