LEWISTON – Clarence E. Pelletier, 75, died Wednesday, March 18, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada, on Jan. 31, 1934. He was one of 23 children of Antoine and Marieanne Fournier Pelletier. Educated in Canadian schools, he moved to the Lewiston area at the age of 16.

In 1956, he married the former Claudette S. Lanois.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years at the Lewiston Public Works Department.

He was a parishioner of Holy Family Church, as well as a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Council 106.

Besides his loving wife of Lewiston, he is survived by a son, Danny and wife, Tammy, of Surprise, Ariz.; four daughters, Claire and husband, Richard Dulac, of Lewiston, Nancy and husband, Mark Ouellette, of Auburn, Cathy and husband, Marcel Lemay, of Lewiston, and Tammy and husband, Bertrand Gosselin, of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren, Kyle, Paige, Bryce, Melissa, Katie, Chris, Adam, Vanessa, Lynzee, Justin, Kayla and Kyle; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Brandon; eight brothers, Leonard of Turner, Lucien of Oxford, and Laurier, Donald, Yves, Gaetan, Gilles and Michel, all of Canada; two sisters, Germaine Morrissette of Greene and Lucienne Wright of Bath.

Besides his parents and stepmother, Donia Pelletier, he was predeceased by seven brothers, Laurent, Percy, Alphee, Fern, Patrick, Rene and Leo; and five sisters, Rita, Marielle, Bertha, Nicole and Theresa.

The family would like to extend special thanks to M1 and the ICU at Central Maine Medical Center, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, Dr. Evan Ramser and Dr. Stephen Fairchild.
