LEWISTON – Archie L. Sanderson, 55, a resident of 81 East Ave., Lewiston, passed away Saturday, March 21, at Central Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with bone cancer.

He was born in Waterville, June 22, 1953, the son of Arthur Leon and Clarissa (Cook) Sanderson. He was educated in Unity schools and later received his GED in Searsport.

He was a member of the Unity Fire Department for several years, and rarely missed a fire or meeting. He enjoyed making crafts and working with wood. He was a real handyman to have around.

Survivors include his sister, Ruth Ayer and husband, Jac, of Brooks; a brother, Jim Sanderson and wife, Nancy, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nephews, Robert Ayer and Scott Sanderson; as well as a niece, Julie Sanderson.

At the age of 16, he adopted the Boivin family of Unity, and is survived by Jennie Boivin, whom Archie called his “Mom” of Lewiston; siblings, Roger Boivin of Turner, Raymond Boivin of Plymouth, Randal Boivin of Lewiston, Rayno Boivin of Unity, Renee Boivin of Unity and Ryan Boivin of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who all loved him dearly.
