BOOTHBAY (AP) – A fire at a bottle redemption center in Boothbay led to the closing of a stretch of Route 27 for about an hour and a half during the evening commute.

The fire broke out late Tuesday afternoon at the center, which is located in a strip mall.

Police said no injuries were reported and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control. The highway was reopened around 6:30 p.m.
