AUBURN – Vivian Russell, 78, of New Gloucester, died on March 26, at the Hospice House from cancer.

She was born on March 13, 1931, the daughter of Maynard and Eva Robinson. She attended local schools. She married Robert Russell on Aug. 8, 1948. They were married 50 years, when he passed away in 1998.

She has 10 wonderful grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She loved and enjoyed being with all the grandkids very much. She was known as the fun Nana. She loved to visit her sister and daughter in Florida, during the cold winter of Maine. She also loved to play bingo and enjoyed being with her friends. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She will be missed by all of us.

Surviving are two daughters, Helen Hall and her husband, James, of Gray and Roberta Catron of Florida; a son, Franklin Russell and his wife, Stephanie, of Poland; her beloved daughter-in-law, Wendy Russell of New Gloucester; and a sister, Kathleen Case of Florida.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Leona Hanscom; brothers, Maynard Robinson and Richard Robinson; and her beloved son, Ernest Russell.
