Farmington – Claudette Roy Morin, 71, a former resident of Jay, passed away late Saturday evening, March 28, at Sandy River Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farmington, where she had been a resident since October of 2008.

She was born March 6, 1938, in St. Martin, P.Q. Canada, the daughter of Arthur and Adrienne (Scully) Roy Belanger. Claudette graduated from Madison High School in 1956, and immediately following graduation attended and graduated from Sister’s Hospital Nursing School in Waterville as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington as an LPN for 25 years. On June 30, 1962, she married her husband of 47 years, Denis Morin of Jay. He passed away March 17. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She enjoyed going to yard sales with her husband, playing cards, music and reading.

She is survived by brothers and sisters Mark Roy and his wife, Dolline, of Madison, Ghislaine Belanger of North Anson and ex-husband Arnold Belanger, of Madison, Val Roy of North Anson and his friend, Raejean Carmicheal, of Norridgewock, Lisette Dickinson of Anson and ex-husband Richard Dickinson, of Smithfield, Gary Roy and partner, Theresa Poulin, of Waterville; stepsister Beverly Hebert and husband Norman, of Madison; stepbrother Arnold Belanger of Madison; and Roland Belanger and wife Carol, of Skowhegan; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; stepfather Edo Belanger; sister Suzanne Levesque; and two brothers, Patrick and Robert Roy.

Claudette’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Sandy River Rehabilitation and Living Center for their kindness and excellent care. They would like to thank the staff involved in her hospice care for their compassionate attention during her final days. We are sincerely grateful for all that you have done. You all will be forever in our hearts. May God bless all of you.
