PARIS – The veterans’ advocate will not be at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Paris on Wednesday, April 1. His next visit will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 15.
Task force meeting
NORWAY – The Oxford County Domestic Violence Task Force meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 1, at the Norway Town Office. It will feature the Rape Education and Crisis Hotline in recognition of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Representatives from REACH will talk about the organization’s programs, education in the school efforts and the annual Speak Out event.

Cookbook out
SUMNER – The Congregational Church of East Sumner has just published a cookbook with favorite recipes from members. The cookbooks are on sale for $10 from any member. The recipes will be featured at the monthly supper at the church at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4. Donations will benefit the church.
Socrates Cafe
WATERFORD – A Socrates Café gathering will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the Waterford Library.
The theme for the meeting will be “What Is Appropriate Technology?” The moderator will be Connie Allen.

Seniors luncheon
BETHEL – The Bethel Senior Citizens Club meeting and luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the American Legion Hall in Locke Mills.
Luncheon will consist of ham, mashed potato, peas, carrots, coleslaw, rolls and dessert. Price is $9. Entertainment will be the Banjo Band.
July 4 committee
OTISFIELD – The Fourth of July Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in the town office on Route 121.
Rummage sale
PARIS – The South Paris Universalist Church, Pine Street, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4, with a bag sale to follow from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The Good Cheer Hall will feature tables filled with spring and summer used clothes, household tools, dish wares, books, puzzles, toys and furniture.
The bag sale is so named because after the $1 plastic bag is purchased, the customer can fill it free.
There will also be a collectibles table with special treasures available until noon.
