AUBURN – Comedian Joe Carroll, who regularly performs in front of U.S. troops in hot spots around the globe, will return to the Fireside Inn & Suites Saturday, April 4.

“It’s the most important thing I do,” Carroll said of his twice-a-year tours of allied military bases in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. “They do so much for all of us, it’s nice to be able to bring a little fun to them.”

Joining Carroll for Comedy Night will be local favorite Mitch Stinson, a former Navy pilot from Richmond whose career path includes landing jets on aircraft carriers, driving big rigs cross country and telling jokes in nightclubs. He has worked at several top clubs around the country.

The host will be Dan Gill, a returnee to the Boston comedian scene who once opened for Boston-bred comedy stars Lenny Clarke and Lewis CK. Gill, who retired in the 1980s and got back into comedy in 2007, works regularly in the Boston area.

The Fireside Inn offers comedy every Saturday. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the door, $12 with a reservation. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. For reservations, call 777-1777. The Fireside Inn & Suites is at 1777 Washington St., at Exit 75 off of the Maine Turnpike.
