Rummage sale
STRONG – The Methodist Women will have their annual spring rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, and a luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Parish Hall, across from Beal’s Variety.
Pilgrimage topic
WILTON – A program on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land will be given by Fr. Tim Walmer and the Rev. Doug Dunlap at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, in the new Masonic Lodge, Bryant Road. It is sponsored by Pilgrim Commandery 19 of Farmington. All are welcome.
Club speaker
FARMINGTON – Master Gardener John Black, owner of Rocky Hill Landscaping, will be the featured speaker at the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Farmington Falls Road.
His topic will be “Establishing a low-maintenance flower garden.” Following his presentation, Black will answer questions.
President Judy Fuller will conduct the meeting. Hostesses will be Lucy Henry, Louise Chabot and Nancy Crosby. The public is invited. For more information, call 645-2067.
Spring dance
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Elks will host a spring fever dance, featuring Dreamin’ Big, a mix of karaoke and dance music, from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 25.

Gem show
PORTLAND – The Maine Mineralogical and Geological Society’s 26th annual Gem and Mineral Show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, at the the Sullivan Gym, University of Southern Maine, 96 Falmouth St.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Cost is adults, $4; seniors and teens under 18, $3; children 12 and under, free. For directions, contact Wes Baker at [email protected] or 784-1738. The society is a nonprofit corporation.
