NEW GLOUCESTER – The Sabbathday Lake Grange will have an open house and award ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the grange, Sabbathday Road, off Route 26.
April has been declared Grange Month, and the grange invites members of the community to learn more about the purpose, programs and activities of the grange during the open house. Open Gates Equine Rescue will be presented the Grange Community Citizen Award to acknowledge their work and grange members will be recognized for their years of service.
“For over 140 years, the grange has worked to advance the interest of rural Americans by providing a legislative voice for their political concerns and by showing them how to strengthen their neighborhoods and communities through community service,” Sabbathday Lake Grange Master Steven Haycock said.
“During Grange Month we want our community to know that the grange is a living organization that has a lot to offer everyone. Our grange serves a large area including New Gloucester, Gray and Raymond.”
Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All members of the community are invited to attend.
