Rockin’ the mountain
Wolfcreek, a Maine band whose music encompasses deep Southern rock roots and an edgy, new country style, will play Saturday, May 2, at Black Mountain in Rumford. Wolfcreek performs original songs, written by lead singer Todd Deming and Dan Matthews, who plays bass guitar and provides back-up vocals. It also plays covers of bands such as Alabama, Montgomery Gentry and 38 Special. Formed in 1984, Wolfcreek has performed with Emerson Drive, Steve Azar and the Marshall Tucker Band. There will be a mechanical bull, giveaways and a chicken pie dinner to be served at 6 p.m. until sold out. Dinner tickets are $8. Tickets for the Wolfcreek show, which gets under way at 8 p.m., are $10. Tickets may be purchased at Community Energy, Adley’s Auto Sales and All That Jazz. They will also be available at the door. The event is 21+ only. For more information, call 357-9684 or 364-8831.
