OXFORD – Calling all artists, artisans and fine crafters: There is only one more week to apply for a booth in the newest arts expo in Maine. Inspiration Station: Arts and Heritage Crafts, the newest arts venue in Maine, will be featured during the 2009 Oxford Fair on Sept. 13 to 19.

The nonprofit Western Maine Art Group, which partnered with the Oxford Fair Association in 2008 to create Inspiration Station, is inviting artists, artisans and fine crafters (including painters, illustrators, sculptors, potters, jewelers, glass and fiber artists, quilters, knitters, woodworkers and more) to apply for the event by Thursday, April 30.

The fair annually draws 40,000 to 50,000 visitors. Exhibitors will benefit from advertising in print and broadcast media. Each booth registered will get two one-week fair passes.

Volunteers will be available to assist exhibitors set up and break down. Hand trucks and garden carts will be available for transporting exhibit materials.

Inspiration Station will be locked at night and monitored by Oxford Fair security. Exhibitors collect all proceeds; the venue does not take a percentage of sales.

Indoor booths cost $250. They must be open and staffed all seven days of the fair. Space is limited to 12 exhibitors reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Outdoor booths cost $40 a week day and $50 a weekend day. Exhibitors must be able to demonstrate their art or craft throughout the day and must be able to have their booth staffed during all open hours.
