LEWISTON – Actor/singer Dennis St. Pierre will give two benefit concerts this month for a good friend, Doug Adell of Lewiston, who is in need of a double lung transplant.
Called “A Tribute to the Art of Croon,” the performance will feature music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Bobby Darrin and Harry Connick Jr.
St. Pierre, who played the coveted role of Jean Valjean in the Maine State Music Theatre’s production of “Les Miserables” last summer, will perform with a four-piece jazz ensemble.
The first fundraiser will be Friday, May 8, at the Vineyard Church, 9 Foss Road. General admission is $12, $10 for seniors and students; special reserved seats, which must be paid in advance, $20 (call 577-9982). Tickets may be purchased at Victor News on Park Street. All proceeds from this combination concert/auction will go to Adell and his family to help cover expenses not covered by insurance.
The second concert will be Saturday, May 16, at the Boothbay Harbor Opera House. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. For reservations, call 633-5159 or go to www.boothbayoperahouse.com. A portion of ticket sales from this concert will also go to Adell’s lung transplant fund.
Concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
