PORTLAND – The students of the Portland School of Ballet will present the popular tale of “Peter and the Wolf” at the John Ford Theater at Portland High School at 2 p.m., May 9.

Portland Ballet’s production of this family classic is recognized locally for its extraordinary costumes and its humorous and entertaining staging. “Peter and the Wolf” will be performed Portland Ballet’s upper level dance students and is staged by Nicole Getchell, a Portland Ballet professional dancer.

As a part of the school’s lecture-demonstration series the afternoon will begin with a presentation by the Portland Ballet’s pre-professional dancers from its C.O.R.P.S. program.

Following the performance, the audience will be able to ask questions of the dancers and get an up-close look at the costumes.

Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the performance at the John Ford Theater at Portland High and are $5 to $10.
